Virginia Moraweck is an artist whose realism creates an intimate view into the soul of the animal she is painting. There is a human element to her portraits that explores the character of the subject and evokes an empathy between the animal and the viewer. She uses her architectural background to develop a painting from the interior structure through the many layers of opaque and translucent paint, translating form and light, to the intimately portrayed exterior.
Virginia Moraweck grew up in the horse country of Bedminster, New Jersey where she first painted the horses and dogs of Somerset Hills. She graduated from the College of Design, Art and Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and studied at the Art Students League in New York. Her portraits hang in homes throughout the Northeast.
